Over the past few weekends, I've been working on a mount for my rebuilt military winch. It's been converted to 12V, and got a new set of solenoids, along with going through all of the internals, and some synthetic line. This winch did present a unique problem in that it has an odd 9" wide pattern, And it is a larger diameter than most startdard winches you'd find on a jeep. I also wired up an in cab control in my center console.
My goal was to have it not stick out any farther than needed. The front of the fairlead ended up only 2 5/8" from the farthest protruding part of the factory bumper. and 7 7/8" from the steel"bumper" the winch is just a hair over 9" in diameter.
