So, apparently lagunitas started brewing Newcastle in the US this year. I had no idea since i haven't really been drinking beer much this year. I bought a 12 pack today and noticed the package was different, but that happens all the time with products. They changed the formula and it sucks now, to me at least. I'm pissed i just spent 14 on beer i don't like. Damnit man!

Drank my weight of Newcastle back in the day. Hate they change brews that were so good. My favorite beer was Dixie Blakened voodoo from back in the 90’s and I found it a couple years ago and it tasted like shit.
 
I've read a ton of folks that hate the change online. They have just created a new beer and call it Newcastle to doop people into buying it. Riding the coattails of the name. They say that the US is the only place that has this crap. Everywhere else still has the old stuff.

Silver linings...I think what you mean is you just paid $14 for a beer ‘holiday pack’ to be given to someone you didn’t want to buy something nice for.
 
My MIL works in the alcoholic beverage industry. She said Newcastle’s sales were declining so they decided to make it “crafty”, hence lagunitas took over brewing.
She admitted that no body likes it.
