Ok so they blew it on the Kapernick thing. Piss on them.
But I'll tip my cap for this.

Need to hire better cleaning crew. Too damn dusty in my office this am.

Dude is a badass, but Nike is still a douchecanoe and this is them trying to manipulate the masses back into their corner. And also I feel fat and lazy. The dude with cerebral palsy can run 13.1 miles in the time it takes me to run 1.31 miles

As touching as that is, and I feel bad for saying this, but it seems like damage control. It's very hard for my cynical nature to not shine through so soon after that kind of PR damage.

I'd agree with that...Kaepernick gave them a sales and shares boost, and now this softens up the hard asses (that probably weren't buying their product to begin with) to reduce negative press.

Thought the same thing.
Wondered when this took place. Did care enough to look if it was before the actual CK commercial.

I despise CK and his whole "movement"...while I think there is an issue to address (biased treatment of some minority groups by some police) I dont think he did it right.\

That said...the Nike Ad wasnt a political statement it was an ad designed to sell more sneakers. Who knows if they believ what they said..they said it and it got a response from a target group.

I’ll say this in general on the video I’ve been around special education for 34 years now my ma taught it for 32 and just retired this year she use to help run/organized special olympics in the 90s for our highschool, Nike is covering their ass to say the least, and if y’all think that’s amazing go sit in a class with a autistic kid and let him teach ya how to do math in your head faster than you can on a calculator... lol or better yet arm wrestle a handicap kid that’s in a wheel chair, or watch one of em play a piano like ray Charles without effort, had a kid one day throw a football 70 yard bomb spiral no exaggeration 70 solid yards! these people are gifted in so many ways that we don’t realize, understand and I feel like Nike is just using them as a attempt to draw attention away from their cry baby kapernick bs! Aweomse video tho he could have done it in damn crocs tho bc he was determined!

If it's in your local area, I bet your mom knows my sister. She's also a Mont county special Ed teacher.

No she’s always been a spec ed teacher in Washington county va at Abingdon High School and started out near my hometown of Damascus va at Rhea Valley elementary! Mongt co special ed does good job from what I see and I’m at the schools often! I’m glad they did away with special education classes segregation in last few years and that local fast food jobs intentionally hire special ed to help with “side work” to build their confidence to want to work!

Your sister must be one of the rare breeds of ppl left with nerves of steel... I may be bias bc my ma taught special education but it is not just teaching like typical teacher gets to do, my mom in the past has been bitten, had to get stitches, shots, bc of students having outbursts for no reason bc of events leading up to getting to school, worst thing is most of spec ed parents are main problem for child outburst bc they are neglected at home! Smdh

Loks like this was filmed in May...

BTW read this article
Air Justins? Runner with cerebral palsy inspires Nike line - CNN

Really shocked CNN would post this given their base
Yes, I had accommodations in school," says Gallegos. "Yes, I had to go to therapy and doctor's appointments and meetings in school to address my disability. But at home, my parents treated me like I was a normal kid. The mentality in my home, it was never, 'Oh, my kid has a disability. We need to look for handouts, or whatever should we do?' I think the reason I am where I am today is because of my parents. They don't look for excuses, and they treated me like my disability wasn't there."
