Where is everyone getting their air tanks?

Just ordered my fill kit for my ORI's and need to rent/buy a tank.

Whats the best place to go/best price around the Triad (Greensboro/Winston) Area?

Thanks.

I used to use the Airgas in Colfax right off 40. I used the little short bottles of welding mix bc it took me forever to go through a normal size big tank, they were the only ones that had them on hand. I'd bet they'd have N too.

I'll probably get a bigger tank, I know it lasts forever but I plan to do a lot of shock tuning and adjustments for a while.

Just was curious where the best spot would be.

Whatever the name of that welding supply store is not far from the intersection of I-40 and Sandy Ridge Rd. North side of I-40, and West of Sandy Ridge.

That's the AirGas I mentioned :D

Machine and welding off Lowery street in Winston will likely be cheaper than airgas. They changed their name to something else I can't remember what it is though.

Arc3 Gasses. Weird ass name, if you ask me....

Air Gas in Colfax gets another vote from me. It's what we use at work and I use for the welder.

I recently took my business from Airgas to Robert's Oxygen, also in Colfax. Their prices were MUCH better. Salespeople are easier to work with, and they seem to give a shit about their customers. They're a smallish outfit trying to make a good name for themselves. I'd price them against Airgas and Arc3.

A buddy recommended them strongly. Seemed like a small named business so I was concerned. Glad to hear this.

Are they a chain? Maybe franchise?
There's a Robert's here too, where I get my gas (about once every 4 years lol). Seemed like a family business.
Maybe just a popular name.

I bought my tank and got it filled at machine and welding supply (I think its arc3 now) here in fayetteville. It was around $120 I think. Thats where i get the rest of my welding gases.

I think they're a chain, started up nawth. They're expanding, but trying not to get too big for heir britches like Airass did.

Unusual name for sure but it's catchy. One of their managers from the Dunn store stopped by to pick up some tanks the other day and I got some history from him. Arc3 is a combination of what was machine and welding and a company out of Va. They were both family owned businesses that decided to join forces to better compete with Airgas and the like. He's going to send the rep for my area by and we'll see how they stack up. They'd have a hard time being more expensive than airgas though.

I switched from ARC3 to airgas. Customer service with ARC3 was terrible for me. They messed up our paperwork and thought I hadnt returned 2 rental tanks that I never rented in the first place. This caused them to charge me a fee and after calling to get resolved and them never doing it they held my cylinders and put us in a bind till I could get some from another company. Airgas is $9 to fill a 300cuft nitrogen and Arc3 was charging me around $20. Who's your airgas rep?

Bought an 80 CFM tank from Roberts. Filled it for 20 bucks. Tank cost a bit more than I expected, but customer service was great. In and out quickly. 20 bucks to fill and should last me a good while.

Yeah I've been dealing with Roberts since 07-08. One of the guys goes 40 west home and has helped me out by dropping my stuff at the house when I can't get by before they close. Its a good 15 minutes out of his way. That's top notch service that's 2nd to none.

And I only spend maybe $500 there a year. I'm not a big account they're trying to keep happy. They just seem to genuinely care about their customers.

Maybe I'm better off not rocking the boat! I don't even know if we have a rep. When we get low my dad just calls and they send the truck by.

I could get you the info to my rep for airgas, he cut some prices to make me happy. Has been great to work with so far, we have some special circumstances so we had a few bumps in the road to start but they have figured our stuff out now.
