Doing a ton swap on my buddies EB. He currently has a mustang hydroboost mastercylinder on it. We have blead the brakes well, but still have no pedal. They will pump up and holdfine, but after sitting for 4 or 5 seconds there is no pedal again. I think the master cylinder is not big enough. Any ideas?

We already blead m/c. Brakes will pump up and hold, you just have to pump them up.

We can get the brakes to pump up and hold with the vehicle off, but when we start it up we have no pedal with the vehicle running. I am not very familiar with a hydroboost m/c.

Listen to me carefully Please.
1. Did you adjust the rear brakes or check any of the brake stuff on the rear ?

2.If the drums and shoes are good are they adjusted correctly?

3.What did the rear come out of ?

4.Hydro boost work off the p/s pump the pedal will feel low when running but will stop the vehicle .

If you have a safe and I mean safe area to move the vehicle around at 10 to 15 mph and see if it stops but first try to idle around and see if the brakes hold you could have also tripped the proportion valve .

Sorry, should have put more info. Axles are D60 front and 10.25 Sterling rear both from a Superduty. Front and rear are dual piston caliper disc brakes. Pads are almost new. He has a Wilwood proportioning valve for the rear that we opened all the way up. M/C is hydro-boost from mustang (for front and rear disc brakes) modified to work on his EB. We blead the M/C then blead starting farthurest first. Got clean fluid everywhere, and calipers ARE on the correct side. Pistons are moving and will clamp down on the calipers when you pump up the pedal, but if you pump the pedal up good and then go back 4-5 seconds later and press the pedal it will go all the way to the floor again. When you pump them up they have good pedal and it will stay good as long as you press on them. Anytime I have ever had air in the system you can pump them up and apply pressure and the pedal will slowly leak down, but not in this case. I am not sure is the Mustang M/C has enough volume for these big calipers

I have not tried moving it to check to see if the brakes will actually stop the vehicle, but there is very little resistance feeling in the pedal.
