no pics, just red X's

Ok, the 'you should not be using a computer' question of the day. I have finally gotten my desktop PC back up and running after a bout with some spyware. Now all I get is little red X's (and a description) in place of the pics that I see on my laptop when I use this board. I have gone into the internet settings in Explorer and changed all that I could and made this site 'allowed' or whatever. Then I have gone into Norton and done the same. I dont get it. Why dont ANY pics come through? What setting do I need to change?
