Anyone have experiences or recommendations for an office headset with mic that eliminates background noise?

The wife has a home office and it can sometimes be a pain when her clients on a call can hear me and the kids around the house even though we are not in her office. Sometimes the dog barking.

Don’t mind so much her hearing us, but we don’t want the mic to pick up background noise. There are many options out there but it’s a difficult choice without any experiences with any of the products or recommendations

Ive tried many over the years. My last pair were the Bose noise canceling ones. Loved them. I am now trying out the Airpod Max headphones. Man. I havent experienced better noise cancelation since 3m plugs with a set of david clarks on top.

Blue. Parrot. If you're not sure, call @tobaccoroad4wd and talk to him while he's unloading a truck. Best noise cancelling and cleanest audio I've ever heard. I have the S650XT at my desk now after hearing his. My only complaint is no way to pair to my old analog desk phone, but works great with cell and computer.

Bose and Airpods are great at noise cancelling for the wearer - both lack imho for mic canceling.

For our inbound call center we have demo'd probably 40 models. In our experience nothing cancles noise out of the mic better than the C400XT from Blue Parrot. If you prefer a hairband style a B650XT is the equal but heavier for all day wear.

I’ve had more headsets than I can count. I’ve tried Bose, Aftershocks, jabra, blue parrot and more I don’t remember.
By far the best sound quality is from blue parrot. I currently have 3 BP headsets. One in the shop, one in my DD, and a spare that stays with my work stuff in case I forget to charge it.
I sent you a PM with my number feel free to call anytime.

The B350-XT is my current go to. Light weight so you can wear it all day and the same noise cancelling and sound quality of the 400, 550, and 650.

It does have a slightly smaller ear piece, which can be a factor for sound quality coming in, but not as small as the 400.

Curious. Is this with a cell phone, or a voip desk phone?

either.
I keep mine triple synced to work cell, personal cell and laptop

Sorry, probably should have provided more info about her set up.

She is using it for zoom type meetings. She can hear clients just fine, we are more concerned with the mic picking up background noise.

There is construction across the street, kids getting off school, dogs barking, and me doing random stuff. The zoom meetings are medical appointments, so they need to be private for the clients and for them to feel like they are not competing with background noises, etc. That can be distracting and unprofessional.

Another vote for BP. When I’m in my truck I didn’t even have to turn the radio all the way down and the caller doesn’t even know and the truck isn’t exactly quiet inside. The loader operators all have one and when I’ve called them I can’t even tell they are on the equipment and there are never any “huh, what did he say?” Moments. Battery life is really damn impressive too. Got mine refurbished off of Amazon for about $130. It’s a B450-XT

EDIT: looks like they are 122.95 right now

Zoom now has pretty decent noise cancellation built into the app itself (and has settings you can use, I just have mine on auto). Does she have that turned on? Curious if/how much it has helped, as it has helped mine a lot.

Just adjust the mic input levels? Set so that it doesnt pick up anything but speaking input?
15+ years ago i did this for gaming. Worked for about 90% of background noise level. I know they make gaming mics (also used for vlog), which specialize in removing background noise

I imagine for a professional zoom skype meeting (with video), that a headset is not ideal?

Alot can be achieved with mic input settings

Well, I said zoom but it’s some sort of secure medical program with similar features to zoom, but not actually zoom. I said zoom because I don’t know any better. Lol

Headsets on zoom type meetings are pretty typical, so not a huge deal. It’s 1 on 1 with a patient, not a corporate CEO, so while it needs to be professional, it also needs to be private. Headsets aren’t a huge deal, visually.

Even a good clip on mic or stand mic would work just fine as long as it excludes any background noise.

My thoughts as a hypothetical “patient/client” would be that a headset would not only make her hear me better but if I new she was WFH (or other “public” environment) it would give me the peace of mind that what we are discussing isn’t going out across the speakers for who knows to hear. But like I said just my .02

This is the one I have, same as the B650-XT, but with removable left earpiece for stereo or mono.

There's also 3 different settings for noise cancelling on the wearer side: standard, NC on (weird silence like other NC headphones), and passthrough, which passes through (or maybe even amplifies?) the ambient noise for awareness. I'm not sure what passthrough does on the bluetooth output side. I would through the background noise cancellation would still be active, but not 100% sure.

Right. It’s a dedicated home office, so it’s pretty private. And with all of us knowing HIPPA implications, me and the kids always stay away and never interrupt. We are usually busy or not around, so it isn’t an issue. But with the noise cancelling mic, it just makes the experience for everyone much better.
