So I'm getting pretty far along in my pre-pre-planning, only in my head, not quite written down yet, plan for the 2005 SD60 swap in my 79 Bronco. Things are getting pretty serious. I squirreled away a set of 8x170 16.5x12 Weld Typhoons years ago that I thought I was going to use...they're not going to clearance. Looks like I'll need something in the 17-18" range. I'll be running 18"ish wide tires. Don't want steel D windows. Always loved the turbines/westerns/hurricane and slots from the 70's...have lots of sets of those, but I don't think they invented the metric bolt pattern until Y2K. I saw US wheel makes a new 'slot'...but only 9" wide. So what wheels are out there that say 'I'm the coolest dude in the mall parking lot, but I don't want to get flamed on the internet' or 'I don't wear a flat bill and jerkoff every time someone says cummins, but I do like some style'.

Unless you want something thats black, silver, chrome over alum or some variance of a star pattern your gonna be hard pressed to find anything nice.

They make a drill guide you can buy for $60 now to change it to 8 on 6.5

I'm gravitating toward this company for my DD. I also follow your taste I think....

Method Vex or Method Hole maybe. Both would look good on that Bronco and be slightly suggestive of the stock Bronco wheel style to tie everything together.
I'm not a fan of fake beadlock styles but it's pretty slim pickings if you try to find a truck wheel without that...

my center wheel post is a true bead lock.....and I agree fake ones used to make me cringe but oh well could be worse with nine hundred lights and great big d-rings with 5/16 chain running through them.

That's what I'm finding. It's either blingdaddy, deep dish or black/chrome D windows.

True...but the problem remains, you start hitting 17's and you either have stock spec replacements or brodozer selections. 18's, you might as well buy a tapout shirt and white oakleys.

I actually do really like these...prefer some polish, but I think I could make this work.

As long as you don’t put low profile tires on, most any wheel will probably look ok.

Nah...I'll be in the 40-42" range. I do bum around with the Los Foringas truck club though, and one of their members does have an immaculately restored 79 Bronco on 35's...with 24's...

I think some factory 18" wheels with a true weld on beadlock conversion would be the hot ticket. I'm partial to these:
2017 chrome ford 8 lug wheels
And I think they would look awesome with a beadlock ring around the outside.

If you decide to run a reasonable width, you can get a AR Outlaw or similar bullet hole wheel.

Edit: Eagle 058s come in 17x10"

IMO wheel selection these days sucks ass and when I do find something I like it’s hard for me to justify putting a $3k set of billet wheels on a $4k truck.

Raceline makes some nice non-beadlock wheels...good selection of 17s too. Then there's always TWF. They make some sick 17" double beadlocks now.

I'm really glad I redrilled my stuff so I can run H2s. It made the choice much easier for me. I do kinda want some gunmetal gray Raceline Defenders though...
