[Nov 17, 2012] Appalachian 4x4s hurricane creek clean up (Waynesville,nc)

We will doing a Clean up on the local trail called hurricane creek. We have had good success on getting it clean and it staying fairly clean... We would like to invite anyone that would like to join us in these efforts. Any help will be greatly appreciated by us and the FS. We usually get started about 8am and end around 2 or 3 pm. We will meet at the truck stop then ride down I 40 to the trail together
 
I know I already said I have to work that day but If anyone in the club wants to borrow my pick-up to haul the trash they are more than welcome to it.
 
I went through Hurricane Creek a little over a month ago on a Wednesday and at the third water crossing there was a Forest Service Officer and a white 4wd service truck with Alpha Environmental Sciences on the door, i didn't see what they were doing because the FS Officer told me it would be better if i didn't cross the creek so turned around and left. Kinda got the feeling they were taking water samples down stream of the water crossings.
 
We were out there this past Saturday and the trail was in rough shape due to the snow and all the trees down, we had to trim our way through, got lots of pin stripes on my Jeep to prove it
 
I was up there last weekend. We cleared a lot of the trail but I too have plenty of New Carolina pin strips to prove.

I won't be able to make it but a small chainsaw will get you through the trail unscathed. The playground had a big tree down blocking it but we got it out of the way.
 
I'm going to try and make this I won't have a rig but if anyone has an open seat I'd be glad to assist.
 
I might be going, depends on how i feel- getting some major dental work done but if so i have no friends and ill have an open seat

We have the orange trash bags... Just bring your drinks/food for the day also anyone that is goin on the clean up it would be a good idea to wear some kind of orange since we are still in hunting season
 
We are meeting at the little truck stop that has the Haywood cafe in it
