Now for something really different

Let the wiring begin!!!

My engine setup is a drive by wire version. He pedal assembly came out of a Chevy truck and doesn’t really match the cab over setup. A tad off to the right!

I took a piece of flat bar that positioned the pedal over the perfect distance. Thank goodness we never throw metal scraps away.

I cut up the old gas pedal mount to help finish off the mount.

The pedal was too long and shaped all wrong. So we cut a few inches out of it, applied copious amount of heat, and some “gentle” taps with a BFH and the pedal is just where I want it. Unfortunately I didn’t get any shots of the carnage as I was having to much fun with my instruments of destruction. But here is the final product.

Saw this at Lowe's and thought about this build when I saw it.

Ahhhh yes, Frankenstein is patiently waiting his turn. I've learned a lot about the LS platform from my work on my Jeep project and will be making some changes on the wiring front. Once I finish with my brother's CJ5 project this one will be front and center. I have this devil on my shoulder to pony up and throw the LSX454 between the frame rails but my bank account tells me the hell you are! Then there is the credit card company whispering hey kid check out the "FREE" checks......

Soooo, yesterday I bought a project truck to help get me motivated to get back working on this. It’s a 2004 Tiltmaster that has a factory 6.0 LS and 4L80 transmission. It runs, rough, and drives. My original plan was to gut it and transfer all the wiring and plumbing and… and… and… to my current truck. But now I’m wondering do I move everything over to this and shorten the wheelbase to match. The thought of moving the wiring etc is kind of daunting but the thought of moving the axles and shortening the wheel base is the same. One con is the original truck has a sectioned frame and the new one is perfect.

Any thoughts from the peanut gallery??

I would just do the wiring and continue with the original

I say...build them both!

Maybe make the new one a burnout machine or something?
