NP 231 SYE install front yoke upgrade?

I'm installing a NP231 SYE 1350. The kit came with rear flange yoke for a 1350 drive shaft that I will be ordering as soon as I can get some measurements. It appears that my original front drive shaft will be too long (I'm in the middle of installing super duty axles front and rear with 1350 yokes) should I try to find a 26 spline 1350 yoke for the front or just get a drive shaft made with 1310 to 1350? I see Adams drive shaft makes one for $110.00 This is for my MJ with 94 tcase. Thanks

Call Oliver's, Dave can fix you up with virtually any combination you can dream up. He can also supply you a yoke of choice and a heavy wall shaft if you want it. He could have sold you the SYI kit as well

Order a rear shaft from Olivers today. 600.00 plus tax and I'm picking it up, a little more than I was expecting.

That's reasonable these days. In a bind I needed one from Carolina Driveline (I've used Oliver's for years, this was just a logistics thing this one time). 1350, non-CV, 53" long, 1/4" wall- $616.

Yep, that is normal. The 1350 high angle HD CV rear driveshaft for my YJ was almost $900 with a flange yoke for the Atlas, and a 1410 U-bolt yoke for the 14 bolt. I went with Tom Woods. Gotta pay if you want to play err have expensive parts in your garage sitting on jack stands. My front DS needs to be lengthened, and I plan to take it to Olivers.

I have my new drive shaft but the flange is tapped for a different thread pitch. Could I just drill the threads out or does it need to be threaded at both the shaft side and tc side?

If it is threaded on both sides, you'll be unable to tighten the bolts.
Choose from which direction you can get to the bolts easier and drill baby drill accordingly

Thats what I was thinking, just wanted a second opinion Thanks

Cycle your suspension to full droop with the wheels off the ground or jack up the car by the front bumper and remove the front tires. Put the transfer case in neutral and make sure the front driveshaft spins freely with no bind at full droop, you may need to limit strap to prevent binding on the trail and expensive noises.

Repeat for the rear
