NP205 parts

Think I have a speedo stuff in still in my parts 205

partswanted section for fast service.

lots of guys have 205 parts.

i got rid of my extra stuff or i would help.

what do you need ? there is 2 style gears steel or plastic.

and then go from there on what you need.

Thats the problem I don't know, I bought the case from a member on here, removed the plug that was in place for the speedo assembly and there is no drive gear on the output shaft for the speedometer, I've tried contacting 4xHeaven and they haven't been much help with all the info off the case. I thought about putting the request in wanted to buy section but if no one has the parts, I was hoping someone could atleast steer me in the right direction.

Here's some photos to help illustrate what I'm hunting

if no splines on the main output shaft its a steel gear setup from the older 70's 205 tcases.

I just walked down stars and checked on that for ya. I have one. You can have the whole case(missing inputshaft, input bearing, and maybe a few small peices for 50$. Or ill sell the rear output with the speedo stuff still in it for 20

Is it the plastic gear or the steel gear? I'm pretty sure the PO had swapped the output shafts for 32 spline units, what is yours? Thanks again, just trying to get a damn VSS signal for the TBI is becoming a major PITA

I'm not sure. I can check it in the morning. I know its not 32 spline......I think it would be 30 spline

all rear outputs on 205 are 32 spline.

input can be 10 / 27 / 32 on gm

output front are 10 / 30 / 32

hope this helps.

Thats where to go for anything speedometer related. Ive gotten several things from them before for mulitple vehicles and the service has always been good.

I've heard of some people having no issues with running TBI without the VSS, but when the gear stripped out on my trail rig (78 F150 with a 351M running TBI from a chevy 1500 with a 5.7) everytime I'd push the clutch in the engine would try to stall, so having the vss working really helped mine idle much better.

Well I thought about using GPS for speed, I've read that some people/kit companies ground the park/neutral wire which makes the ecm think its in park at all times. I also read mixed results doing this some say they truck runs like junk and some same it runs fine. One of the biggest things that I've read over and over is the fuel economy and considering I want to be able to drive the truck on the road this is a concern for me. Have you tried using a vss and see what kind of changes it makes in the performance of your truck? Just wondering
