np208 case differences between 85 and 87?

My buddy has a 87 k10 and cracked the back half of his np208 case, I have an 85 blazer np208 housing so i let him have my back half to fix his, well we can't get the back hlaf from my case to fit onto his shafts? It seems like the bearings for the mainshaft are visibly identicle but the bearings for the secondary shaft are slightly different, we can't really tell if the inner diameter is different but thats the only thin I can think of that would be keeping my 208's back half from sliding onto his 208's shafts, the bearing itself i'm assuing is pressed in and I don't know how you would get it out or where you find a replacement? Is he pretty much stuck finiding a whole new 208?

ok figured it out, tail shaft housing was different just swapped em over were good thanks thou
