o-rings the same in an 88 vs. 91 yota steering box?

Both IFS power steering boxes, I have one out of an older truck, which is shorter. The o-ring on the sector shaft crapped out on me when I put it back together from drilling/tapping it (probably my fault). Well, Toyota wants $75 for the 'kit' that comes with this o-ring, and that is a toyota employee price, not retail (about $125). If the o-ring will fit out of my old steering box, I would love to use it (sector shaft is junk anyways). I don't really want to take the one that needs the o-ring apart without having one to replace it.
