Let me get this straight....

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, who have recently demonstrated their objective and professional integrity; written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a Dumbo President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, and the Post Office all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

Just got a letter today from our insurance company stating that our plan was going to go up $35 on January 1, that doesn't seem to bad, but deeper in the letter it did state that as requirements are released (another way of saying they're still making crap up) that our premium may change to "reflect" those cost..... I like our company and our plan though so I'm not changing, but I am a lil worried as to how much it can and will rise...

My boss told us our regular insurance went up about 16% for next year. Obama care would 140% increase. sounds like a great plan.

you forgot the part about all the folks that have insurance now (job benefits) that soon won't, and will also have a 25% lower paycheck because employers are cutting them to a 30-hour workweek to avoid obamacare.

I have a client that has done this, everybody except top management is 30 hours now....some cut to 22 or 25 hours and they are splitting the desk/job between 2 people. (average pay was about 17 an hour for 40 hours, plus good benefits, now 25 hours (at the same $ rate, with no benefits at all, not even vacation).

We had to change providers here at work, and our cost went up like $15 per month. Not terrible, but not sure how the coverage is going to be yet. I got a lot luckier than a lot of other people.

It is just another redistribution of wealth. Make the people who earn the money pay for ones who take the handouts.

affordable my ass. my old lady & i pay all of her ins premium (mine is company paid) and she
got a letter saying that her premium will go from 238.00 to 487.00 per month. no way in hell can we afford
that. don't have a clue what we're gonna do.

I just brokered a deal with BCBS for my home plant yesterday. I'm extending our current contract for another 2 years, effective Dec 1...even though we had about 4 months beyond that. In doing so, our premiums only went up 25% from our current contract. Had I waited until Jan 1 or later, premiums were going to double. Kinda shocked BCBS was even willing to that, not sure what there profitability looks like in either scenario, but I'm thinking they're taking a bigger hit after Jan 1 even if our premiums would have doubled.

BCBS is going up obscene amounts. Our company was with BCBS and they tried to raise us up 23%, no negotiating. We switched to Aetna and only got a marginal increase.

We have Aetna, I don't know what its going up to, but in our open enrollment time we are suppose to have three choices this go around. Guess I'll go with a high deductible for now own.

Don't forget the plan will be implemented in yearly steps .... so it's gonna go up every year for several years.

I was at the store last night. The girl in the checkout line in front of me broke down and started crying while she was paying. She had just been told yesterday that her 40 hours with benefits would be 28 hours with no insurance, no 401 contribution, nothing starting November 1st. Her coworkers got the same.

i am navigating healthcare.gov right now. am i paranoid for feeling suspicious about entering so much personal data into a gov run website? even leery about the security questions.

i have created an account and began step one of the application....my credit report has been pinged.

You have already run this info...little late to ask permission. and why do you need to check with DHS?

Important: As part of the application process, we may need to retrieve your information from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and/or a consumer reporting agency. We need this information to check your eligibility for coverage and help paying for coverage if you want it and to give you the best service possible. We may also check your information at a later time to make sure your information is up to date. We’ll notify you if we find something has changed.

50 minutes. still answering questions. this is painfully slow. they only ask 3 questions at a time. then there is a loading period before the next set of questions.

one thing i noticed, when completing a group of related questions, the screen pops up and there is a green NEXT button. if you scroll up youll see some kind of desclaimer or additional information. but only if you scroll up. might just be my computer settings but i find that a bit sneaky.

Please Wait still burning into my screen.....3 emails from healthcare.gov already blowing up my alerts.
