Who: Everyone is invited. You don't have to have any GR parts on your rig. In exchange for putting their name on the Meet and Greet, they'll publicize the events all over the intrawebz.

What: Joe put this together last month and did a great job. If you have a street legal rig, bring it out. IF your rig isn't street legal, come on out in your daily driver. Meet other wheelers in the area, compare vehicles, tell lies and make plans to work, wrench or whatever.

Where: Twin Peaks restaurant at Concord Mills Mall. The Manager said he would reserve parking for us, but I'm not sure that's possible. We had 25 trucks last time. If we have more than they can handle we can simply park "behind" the restaurant in the mall parking lot.

When: Friday, October 18th. 6pm until ??? I think I hung out after dinner talking until almost midnight.

Why: To have fun, meet new folks who share our passion and to catch up with old friends.

PS. To our friends in south Charlotte or South Carolina. The Charlotte area is so big, it's impossible to find a place that's convenient for everyone. We'll be doing these nights on the 3rd Friday of each month. My thought is that we rotate back and forth between north and south Charlotte. That way it'll be easier for folks from south of Charlotte to participate as well.

I know it's still more than a week away, but if you can make it, please use the RSVP functionality at the top of the page. That way we can let the restaurant know how many will be there and it will make things easier on everyone! And we can get seated and eating/drinking quicker!!

I sent them an email and asked if they could send us some "GenRight Girls"................

Back to the top come on people lets show genright the support they want to see so this thing can get big and maybe they'll show the love with some discounts and trail day support.

It's all good. It looks like almost all of my group will be out at Uwharrie for the weekend.

On a lot of forums, you'll have a few "lurkers" show up to events that never posted up. NC4x4, seems be really bad (or is it good?) about this. Problem here, is they may not have a place to sit at dinner. If I tell the restaurant, we have 10 people and 30 show up!!

PS. If you can't make it, would you mind sharing why?

Time?

Day of the week?

Location?

We want to make these as fun and accessible as possible, but need feedback to do that.

My thoughts:

Dump the genright name so that we can see it as a general NC4x4 group thing. I think it should be just us. Who cares how big it gets? I don't really want to be associated with idiots, if any of the redneck types show up acting the fool.

Also, alternating locations could be good or skipping a month between them would be fine. Having one a month will probably lend itself to a lesser crowd each time.

I just saw this and will try to make it. The genright thing threw me off

Let me address some of your items Bart.

In exchange for putting their name on the event, GenRight will publicize the event on approximately 30 forums, their website, Facebook, etc. They're not forcing use to buy or use their products so I don't see the downside. There won't be any salespeople there. I just don't see any negatives and I do see a lot of positives. Since agreeing to host the events and having some discussions with their President, Tony Pellegrino the association with them could be very beneficisal to all of us on NC4x4 and throughout the southeast. GenRight is very involved in land access out west and I've started talking to them about ways they can be active here, starting at Uwharrie. To me, "us" is anyone who has an interest in wheeling in a responsible manner. Last time, we had a few guys with big diesel trucks show up.Obviously, they didn't wheel these trucks, but maybe they were their tow rigs? I just wish they didn't have to demonstrate their penis size by smoking out a group of people trying to talk.

I'm not sure what you're saying about the frequency of the events. Are you saying you'd like to see them more often? Or less often?

I hope you can mnake it and we can discuss these items in more detail.

PS Have we wheeled together before? I know I wheeled with a Bronco at Callalantee and once at Devil's Playground.

I'm in

Sorry about the black smoke thing its just cuz I'm hung like a horse. .....fly.lol I promise not to do it again. But on the other hand I have tried wheeling my big truck its just too long for dpg.

Last time I was at URE, I did Daniel with an almost new Dodge Power Wagon. It was a gasser, but still a 2500 truck. You can do it Joe!

20% chance of rain tomorrow. It's all good!!

I'm going to try and make it, depends on what time I'm out of work and if my sponsor has it in the beer budget for me :) this will be my first nc4x4 event. I've met some people on the trail in uwharrie but not spent much time on the forums. O and don't count me for dinner I'll just b coming for a drink, the conversation and hopefully look at some beautiful rigs thanx for setting this up

I might try to come, but I dont want to be profiled as an idiot redneck because I wear just boots and carhartt pants. just a thought.
