so I got a used front output yoke for a NP205 (read: dont know the donor / original application) and finally mated a shaft to it today. its the U bolt style, not a strap. weird thing is the the strap holes are much closer in to center than what Ive ever seen. like a good 1/8" closer on each side of center. It bolts up nicely but it just looks like it needs specialized Ubolts/straps. on the D60 yoke, the outside edge of the strap ends are close to the closed end of the trunion cap. on this weird thing, its sitting way in, and the inner edge sits on top of the seals. weird. what gives???

confused yet?

^ sounds like a winner. I was thinking it was the weird Ford large OD caps.

The weird Ford one was a 1330F. It was something like 1310 caps on a 1350 body, or something like that. I used to have one on the 60 in my Silverado.

That's a 1330 with 2, 1.125" caps and 2, 1.0625 caps or a 5-1204X Common on 9" Fords in their f-100's.

It seemed...unnecessary. So it got ditched in favor or a normal old 1350 joint :) Ford ALWAYS had/has to be different. :shaking:
