My nephew has a '97 Escort that the odometer dosn't work on.
No OBDII codes.
He just bought it a few months ago, passed inspection.
Will this be a problem next year when he gets an inspection again? Will it get flagged for having exactly the same reading again?

There's a checkbox or two on NC titles that relates to mileage (odometer broken, not actual miles, etc), but like ^^ said, it won't matter at inspection time.

Great thanks. Its an escort, pieced together, already has a salvage title... not a lot of motivation to fix it.

I am glad to know that it doesnt matter because my dad has a old camry that literall never gets driven. He took it to get inspected last year and the mileage had only gone up by less than 20, and the inspection tech gave him grief almost insinuating that my dad rolled it back.

My daily driver's odometer doesn't move at all, but it is an 89 so not like I really care.

And not like it matters. When I first owned it it a long time ago it had over 220k miles on it. Now that I have it back the odometer is stuck at around 178k miles.

Haha yeah Kahlil's odo is stuck at 150-something.
He just drives until the reserve light comes on, then makes it a point to get gas "soon".
