OFF ROAD PARK OPENING NEAR HICKORY NC

sweet i am definitely all for it. this wud be so much better 4 me and the guys i go wheeling with than traveling to mtn city or URE. we wud stay at this park. hurry up n open lol let me kno if i cud be any help.

We are all in, but we have some in the community around the land that have some problems with it. Does anyone know how to get intouch with chad mackey from the bigdixie boggers?? we have kinda the same situation he has on his land, we have a school and a daycare within a few miles of the park and they are raising hell about the idea, need some info from chad and how he kept the church across the street from him happy all these years

Start with:
-No trail riding before noon on Sunday

-Controlled access points on your property, meaning a very clearly marked driveway (or 2 if you have 500' or more of road frontage) and no driveways near intersections

-All driveways should have at least 100' of gravel to act as a "mud mat" and prevent vehicles from tracking mud and dirt into the road

-All other frontage areas receive nice decorative fencing and landscaping, you're looking to beautify the area and raise the profile of the neighborhood

-One small sign at the entrance with all the park details, hours, etc. but most importantly a contact phone # for anyone to call with questions OR problems. For instance, if there are people wheeling while the park is closed and causing problems, the neighbors need to be able to make you aware of it, any time of day or night.

-And a strict conduct policy for your visitors. No alcohol, reckless driving in common areas, etc.

If it's where I gather it is, isn't the day care across the river and up the hill from where your looking at? They shouldn't have any problems. We keep the church across from the farm happy just like GSW mentioned, no riding before noon on sunday.

thanks for the help guys, yes the daycare is a ways away and they seem to be ok with the idea now, we are still working with others who are not so happy about the park opening, i dont want to spend all this time and money to open something and then the community to shut it down i went out and wheeled on it about a week ago with some other guys just to see how load it is for the surrounding community, so far no complaints except one old couple.

Just a suggestion, offer to take them out four wheeling one day to see what it's like. You could schedule up a nice mild wheeling day trip and provide lunch and let them see what the wheeling community is really like. They probably have some misconceptions of 4x4 owners.

Like to know how this is coming along would be nice to have a place to wheel without getting the law called or the whole police squad around every weekend like hickory.

His last post here, was his last post. He did visit the site this year, his last visit was

Doesn't seem to be happening

I've never been Off-Roading and would love to without having to go far from where I live. Hickory being 10 minutes away, this would be an awesome addition to the place! Looking forward to it!

I'm guessing you didn't actually read the posts right above yours...
