Off road podcast

The Talent Tank
Wheeling Wine and Whiskey
Conversations with Big Rich

are the few that come immediatly to my mind

I'd listen to another one.

Is that a thing? Cause I would totally listen. And if it’s not, I’ll totally start one

This is on Spotify!

I listen to The Truck Show Podcast.
It’s hosted by a long standing editor of Four Wheeler and is produced by Motor Trend. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s cohosted by a former morning radio show host and that shows.

The FW editor brings GREAT tech and excellent guests. I would give it a listen.

Another vote for The Talent Tank.

Racing on the Rocks is a good listen as well.

I tried to listen to Crawl 5280 and just couldn’t do it. I even skipped to a few episodes ahead, just didn’t hold me.

I think it would be cool to do my own after each trip, recap the trip with 1 or 2 folks that were there. Talk a little tech, little crap, and more.

I think I can honestly say I have never listed to a single pod cast.... I never liked talk radio I don't think I'd like a pod cast.

I typically only listen to music when I'm at work, the more stressful the work the louder the music gets. In the car I'm listening to podcasts, NPR radio shows, or a book on tape. Getting lost in a story while on a drive is so nice. It makes the drive go by quick and being stuck in traffic just means more time to listen to a story I'm in to.

We did that one "episode" a long time ago. If anything it was fun with friends. The only issue you run into IMO is having to explain inside jokes. If I can get my shitbox back going I'd love to be guest on your show.

The music I get. I get irritated when music isn't playing while I work on things or driving. The only "talk" I enjoy is when I listen to bands or dj's talk about interesting things about bands or stuff that happen. Give me a short story or couple lines then get back the music.

This is why I can't stand morning radio. I don't care about your witty banter or what you did over the weekend. Play music and shut up. This is probably why I stream everything anymore.

I remember that, and I enjoyed it. I just did some reading about how to do it. Seems actually doing a video blog would be easier. Edit the video, upload it to YouTube.
mom sure the podcast thing would be easy too but sounds intimidating. Also, my guest doesn’t have to be there for a podcast. It could be recorded anywhere.

I would totally have you on the show. Get you and @Jody Treadway together and tell the wedding story of Harlan.

Some inside jokes would just have to be learned over time. I would also try to get some folks on the show that have a large following on social media. Not exactly “famous” but the people that have a well known rig and or just known in the off road world. Ask them some questions many people probably wanna know and stuff like that.

I’m not saying this is gonna happen for sure, just what I envision. Work, play, and 2 kids and a wife don’t give me a lot of time sit down for hours and edit a 30 minutes episode.

That's me. I've got big ideas but just no time to make them happen. Also, such a thing would force me to keep up with the latest and greatest. I'm very old school but I'm not "rebar makes great shifters" old school. I doubt anyone wants to hear me talk about slapping booger welds on my four link anyway. Funny stories? Sure but I'm sure people would get tired of that after a while.

You should do it.

I have thought about starting a podcast on a different topic, but everyone around me knows that I am not a story teller, and its not a good idea.

With the death of forums, and the photobucket disaster, I think the old school stuff would be interesting for some of the younger people. There are times when I try to find info from years ago, and pics or parts of it are dead. There was so much info on doing things cheap or different on forums, and trying to get them on a social platform that people are using, could be valuable for the future.

I listen to a podcast, where the guy records much of it in the car. If you have long drives, that might be a good option. Or sitting around the campfire at an offroad trip, recalling the day. Then the editing can come later.

Imovie is a good, easy one to use for video. My wife can knock out some good videos quickly with it. I have Adobe PremierPro at work, and while it is awesome, it can be very time consuming to use; but there is plenty of info online for anything you might want to do.

I think a good example would be this past weekend. I wanted to let @CasterTroy have the experience of driving a 1 ton LS rig. So I let him wheel my junk all weekend.

After of course some humor and funny stuff I would be like:
“So Troy, you wheeled for years now and somewhat recently stepped up to a stretch and linked suspension on 36 inch tires, explain how different it was and what it was like to wheel this rig with an LS and ORIs”

I like to think the average wheeling guy would enjoy hearing about that. Maybe I’m wrong?

Yeah, I think that is a perfect example. There are plenty of folks who are thinking about spending the money to go bigger.
