I don't know if any of you have been keeping up with this story but i went to high school with the idiots he was in pursuit of when he wrecked and died.

Just anothe exapmple of unintended consequences and why you should obey they law, you dont know who's life you are putting in jeopardy.

My prayers go out to Officer Mathews family.

Sad Situation.....They should just fry those thugs. If there is any shortage of people willing to flip the switch I would be more than happy to.

I'm probably going to get flamed to hell and back for this, but I have thought this entire ordeal was horseshit. Stupid acts all the way around. Stupid to run 100 MPH down Shipyard Blvd. (which isn't the best maintained street in Wilmington), stupid to try to avoid a cardboard box at 100 MPH, and stupid to try and pin that officer's death on those guys. To me, it's like that chase a while back out west where the helicopter crashed and they tried to pin their deaths on the guy running. Where's the responsibility?

I'm sorry. I know they are criminals, but that officer was responsible for only himself and his own safety while running that fast down a three lane road in the AM hours. God forbid someone had pulled out in front of him, misjudging how fast he was running.

Ok, I'm done. I hate we lost an officer. Thoughts still go out to his family.

You are not alone. I agree completely, and it is a terrible situation.
