Official 4x4cross Race Volunteer Request May 22-24th 2009

Calling all able bodied, hard working NC4x4 dudes willing to stand out in the beautiful North Carolina heat, rain or just plain ol' clouds.

I need a handful of people May 22nd thru the 24th to stay in a few spots on the course and spot.
Unlike last year, we will NOT need so many people. But don't let that stop you from stepping up.
I'll take all the names I can get because I know things pop-up from time to time that change people's plans and I may need some replacements.
Also I know some folks may not want to 'work' for 2 days straight although I'd prefer those that will.

Last year a bunch of us were a part of something really cool and we all helped it happen and keep people safe; both the racers and the fans. So lets make it happen again.

Yes I'm asking for your valuable time and commitment.
You must be able to show up Friday night around Dinner time and work through Sunday.
Depending on how we many racers we have, we may have some pretty full race days.

Please PM me and let me know these things:
When you think you can show up Friday.
What you will be driving.
Will you have someone with you?
Do you have a radio? (not CB)

I will add to this thread the list of committed Volunteers and any other updates that you need to hear about as well as PMing those involved.

I will answer any questions you may have here or in a PM.

I know its still a little early and just like the racers, we may, hopefully, we'll get a rush of folks closer to the date willin to pitch in some time for our sport.

Right now I have Badog as a comitted volunteer.

We only need a handful of vols, but DON'T let that persuade you from not posting up. Ricky and I will treat all our hard-workin volunteers right. Come on boys and girls. Let's help make this happen.
 
Baddog was a great Vol. last year...as were many others..Come on yall, who wants to help out? You will have some of the best seats in the house!
 
Threw my hat in the ring... since I ain't racing, might as well be helping out.

Let us know what types of Radio you need, I assume FRS/GRMS, a really good excuse to go buy 1 or 2 nice ones!

Oh...and for Ricky / organizers, please make sure if you are doing "staff" type t-shirts that they are NOT BLACK. Let's not kill us in the middle of the sun with black on, thanks!! Oh...and some of us are not skinny, *ahem*...heh. If you want us to smell good the next day / multiple shirts...?

You probably want to get full contact info from your volunteers too

Other practical considerations especially since in an "open field" all day... an Ez up tent, coolers with water/soda, ez access to portapotty, lots of spare batteries, etc.

Shit he'll have better seats than most folks now :rolleyes:

Right now its looking like a Vest like last year will be the gear for the spotters. I'll answer all questions as I have more info. Some I have answered via PM.

I have all your info Shinton and I'll be in touch with all vols as time goes by.

Im in. I will be a vol even if my motor isnt happy enough to race.
