Okay, I have written this 3 times and my IE keeps crashing. I am now going to write it into word an copy and paste.

Agenda for New Year's Day:

Time:
12 noon
We will pull out from the meeting spot at 12:30. Print out and bring the directions if you think you will be late.

Meeting Spot:
Exxon Station in Granite Falls.
It is on the right hand side of the road about 4 miles after you cross over the Catawba River Bridge on 321 N.
There is a Pizza Hut and a Car wash right next door. It is at a stoplight (and RedX will have to chime in with the name of the road when he reads this)
There is also a Subway restuarant in the store so you can pick up a sandwich to eat on the mountain.

Trail:
Brown Mountain ORV trial 1 with a loop.
Easy to medium trails.
Passible in most any 4x4.
$5 fee payable at the trailhead.
All state laws apply on the trail. (No drinking, seatbelts, etc.)

Timeframe:

We should be at Brown by 1:00 or 1:15 (depending on how fast the Commando can take the hills:flipoff2: )
If we take a leisurely run, we should be at the top by 3:30 and back to the parking area by 6.
We will stop at the top on the rockface for a BS/Photo op with a little food time thrown in for good measure.

If anyone has any ?'s or concerns, pm me or call 828 781 1832. I will also have this phone on me the day of the run should any difficulties arise.

CB channel 22 will be used for the day.

If anyone wants to meet us there, we plan to be at the main parking area around 1-1:30.

Directions to Brown Mtn. from Hickory, NC.

Take 321 N to Southwest Blvd exit.
Take Southwest Blvd west to 64/90.
Turn left onto 64/90.
Turn right on Playmore Beach campground Rd.
Follow this road until it become gravel, then dirt. When you come to the first paved road (Brown Mountain Beach Rd. but I don't think there is a sign), turn left.
About 1 miles on the right is the entrance to Brown Mtn. ORV. (Be careful, it will sneak up on you)
Pay at the entrance and we will meet at the main parking area at the trailhead.

See everyone there.:D

I just rode through there today on my motorcycle, I was gonna swing through and look at the trail map but forgot how quickly the entrance comes up and blew right past.

I should be there at the trailhead by 1.

From Charlotte, follow me.

im comming from charlotte... can i get an adress so i can map quest it?
Take I-85 South to 321 north. stop at the exxon that chris was talking about.

As of rigth now I have a time conflict. I need to be back to charlotte sooner than the planed time. Is there anyone that might want to get an earlyer start? Even if we start early we will still meet the main group on the trail as most of it is a loop at the top of Brown Mt.

Anyone is welcome as long as they are considerate on the trail.

Stump, if we get up and are going too slow for you, you can always head down early.

JonS, I am not sure of the address, but if you Google Bronw Mountain ORV, you will come up with a few sites. From Charlotte the easiest would be to head South on I-85 to Gastonia and then head north on 321. From there you can follow the directions I posted or meet at the store.

Collard, do you mean 2 friends with you, or 2 additional rigs?

Two additional rigs if thats cool? If not let me know.

I'm still planning to be there, and I'm trying to talk RocksUnlimited into going too.

The Exxon is at the intersection of Hwy 321 and Pinewood Road. You can't miss it, right next to the Pizza Hut.

I am still going to try to make it. Will meet you all at the entrance if I can find it
Do they have parking for trailers??

Steve

Count me in. I am 95% sure that a co-worker with a brand new stock TJ is coming also.

We will meet up at the Exxon or at Brown Mtn.

Just wanted to know if I could go again this year?
I was one of the "twin rubicons" from last year.
Sounds like a good group of rigs going.

I am sure that you are welcome. Just besure that your wheels are clean and shiny. Uglyjeepoffroad likes the rigs in his run with shiny tire. You should remember that from last year.:D

man, not on the board for a day and the wheels are getting picked on again.

It is shaping up to be a good run, better get out my tireshine and wheel cleaner...:flipoff2:
