dang!! need some herd thinning there! that is the most deer I have ever seen at one time too! I bet the rut is fairly uneventful in that area (all the bucks are just laying around tired haha)

i have no idea where it's from, i just thought it was cool that they all wait patiently to go over the fence, until something spooked them, then it's a free for all.

I've seen herds of 40-60 a few times here in Wake and Chatham co. but it was 25+ yrs ago. A large herd stampeded past me where Lake Crabtree is now one afternoon and scared the crap out of me until saw and realized what was making all the noise crashing through the bottomland, it was more than 40 and out of range of my buckshot. Saw another big herd cross the road right where the county park entrance is now at Harris lake, saw about 30 run accross the road, and a bunch more did'nt cross and ran back towards the lake

The entire time I was watching it I was waiting for deer to be shot.

They must be pretty tame wherever they are because there is a person standing around by that house watching them.
