350 chevy motor w/ low miles in a trail only rig. The motor is about 3 years old w/ World Prod. heads out of the box. It smokes when in deceleration or crawling down hill. I'm also getting oil leaks (i.e. 2 front main seals) so i'm thinking crank case pressure or valve seals. I did a cylinder leak down tonite on all 8 cylinders and all were 30%-35% leakage, all of the plugs were oily. So then i pulled #1 cyl valve springs to look @ the seals, there were umbrella seals on them. So as it sits now the cylinder leak down test does not indicate (to me anyway) a major blow-by issue also the valve seals were still soft and not hard and brittle. I'm thinking of replacing the valve seals w/ positive type seals instead of the umbrella, what do you guys think?

valve guides, world product heads are very tight,i think too tight out of the box, bronze guides are wore and need replacing(i think)...or low tension oil rigs wore out

install pc seals it sounds like the high vacum during decelaration is pulling oil down the intake valve guides. and do u have a pcv valve? if not get one. jim is also right on the rings but id try the valve seals first cause its an easy fix.

Thanks thats where i started, i finished them up tonite. I'll try to find out hopefully this weekend when i can let it run for awhile. If it doesn't, then it's time to start planning for another motor. I'll cross that bridge when i get to it.
