i'm trying to get all the loose ends done on the 4.3 in the jeep,my engine is euqipped with the engine oil cooler from the factory, should i try and keep this or should i say to hell with it and just block it off,if i keep it i wont be using the factory cooler or lines,so i figured it would cost about 200.00 to retrofit it to be used,if i do stay with it i was going to get one of the deraile oil coolers wiht the small fan,its going to be a 80% trail rig and the rest will be driving on the beach down here, want to here some ideas

I would keep the cooler & add an in line filter

I'd keep the cooler. I put a Setrab oil cooler on my YJ's 350 & it help's out qiute a bit to keep things cool. I put dual inline filter kit on it also, nice & clean oil.

I run a 4.3 Vortec in my YJ. I have an oil cooler. I bought a $25 tranny cooler and that is what I use as the oil cooler, coming out of and going into the remote oil filter. Definitely worth it.
