I ordered up all the AC Delco filters I needed for the Mega Hauler along with some Rotella T4 off Amazon. What I bought and what was described and pictured was (3) 1gal jugs in a box. What showed up was a box with 3gal like of oil in a box, that has a pour spout. I’ve never seen this before and there’s not a ton of info or options to buy it this way online.

I tried to return it but Amazon says it’s not eligible for returns, cannot contact the seller and can’t figure out how to actually talk with Amazon. I’m pretty irritated about it, but I should have bought local.

Would any of y’all put this in your truck? I’m a little leary of it but I suppose it’s just a new way of packaging that is less plastic.
Thoughts?

So it's a bag of oil in a box, like what they use in shops when they don't order by the drum? As long as it didn't look tampered with I'd run it.

I've bought Moblie 1 oil from Walmart that was 12 qts of oil in a bag in a box with a spout. But it in the truck with no problems.

Just bought the exact same oil n a box at Wally world and by the numbers it was actually cheaper than buyin 3x 1gal jugs by a few cents. Don’t need to do an oil change yet but I’m keeping the supply up at the house given the recent “shortage” of T4. Also found some at the tractor supply and it was actually on sale for 14.99/ gallon so bought 3 more. As of right now I’ve got 12 gallons at the house. Should be good for a while between the wife’s 6.7 and my 5.9 Cummings.

My local Walmart has had a few jugs of T4 on the shelf randomly. They had about 12 1-gallon jugs and 2 2.5-gallon jugs yesterday. We've been stockpiling it and have about 30 1-gallon jugs in the shop so I didn't grab any.

Chatham Industrial Supply in Siler City also has been keeping it in stock if anybody local needs some. They had several cases on a pallet when I was in there yesterday. They're $17.99 a gallon compared to Walmart $14.99 a gallon but they've had it on the shelf consistently.

Yes I bought it from Amazon but it did show up in a Walmart box.

I've drank many a gallon of wine from a box and always had good results. I'd run it.
I'm assuming its a similar thing. Its in a box, yes, but realy its a bag that is in a box to keep it from being amorphous.
I fail to see any problem, aside from just being a pain to pick up and tip over.

I mean if it bothers you that much pour it out of the box bag into a 3 old oil gallon jugs :flipoff2:

You ordered oil on the internet, and when it showed up, you decided you didn't like the container it was in and tried to return it?

Most people would be satisfied that the oil actually arrived, and they didn't find an oily empty box on the front steps.

We call em mini totes. We order them by the pallets.
Easy to fill with waste oil and transport inconspicuously as well. Not a huge issue in NC but get in Commifornia or Newjersistan and they treat used oil as a hazardous pollutant and transporting it requires all kinds of special shit. So we ditched the waste oil tanks and went to mini totes. So far so good. That was in 2020 ish

Packaging is apart of the price. Run it, you bought it online to beat a brick and mortar store price yeah?

I read somewhere about why a plastic bottle soda from a vending machine etc. is more expensive than a 2 liter of the same brand at a grocery store.

Packaging. The bottle itself costs much more to make (think the grippy designs and harder plastic) than a 2 liter jug of a much thinner plastic and less complicated shape.

Alright I’ll run it. It makes sense why it is cheaper, just threw me for a loop cause I’d never seen it like that.

Went to my local autozone today and they were fully stocked with T6 and T3- multiple gallon jugs and 2.5 gallon jugs. Maybe the supply issues are easing up?

Just got into town here in Columbus, Ga. ran through the Walmarts for some food stuffs and just had to take a peak. Yep, all the t4 a guy could ask for (and for @77GreenMachine ) just outside of the picture was about a dozen of the high dollar box wine flavor rotella.
