Oil Pickup Removal

Motor in question is a 1991 4.3L Chevy. I need to remove the existing oil pickup tube and replace it with a shorter version so I can use a high clearance oil pan. These pickups are pressed into the pump. I have seen a tool that slides around the shaft of the tube and you can then hammer it out. Any idea on where to find one? Or does anyone have a better suggestion for removal? The motor is on a stand so I have full access to everything.

Removal, vice grips and twist it loose. Supposed to replace it once removed due to the light press fit, although reuse is OK as long as it is still a light press fit(seal to the pump basically). I've used a open end wrench and hammer to reinstall. Also you could use a proper size pipe with a notch to do the job.
Edit: just saw removing to change pick up, just vice grip and twist or slap it with a hammer, it'll turn loose pretty easy. Sometimes they will twist out pretty easy by hand.

Thanks! I was able to use a pair of vise grips and it came right out. Installation was easy as well. The smaller pan fits perfectly.

Glad it helped :) new one should have been snug going in. If it wasn't, worry about it, green loctite unless someone knows a better sealant.. personally never had any trouble as long as it took a few hammer bumps to seat into the pump and no rotation of inlet pipe after insertion -- even when reusing pickups. Friendly reminder - drill prime the pump if possible.. if not, disable ignition/fuel system and turn over until oil pressure comes up. And of course assembly lube ftw.
