oil pressure sensor broken

I just finished up an oil change on my ZJ and broke a sensor off.....whoops. it goes directly into the same place the oil filter bolts on to and I believe it to be the oil pressure sensor (due to my car running but the oil pressure gage not working now). the jeep started just fine and ran without an issue. butt I did not drive it anywhere. is this indeed the oil pressure sensor? and will this cause any problems with the motor? i.e. does it affect the actual oil pressure or cause problems if I drive it for a few days till I can have it fixed? thanks for the help

Shouldn't hurt anything. I couldn't do it though. I'm too paranoid and couldn't go a few days without my gauge

it won't hurt anything UNLESS IT STARTS LEAKING. it can leak through the switch. so be carefull

Yes, that is the sensor. I would get it fixed if it was a DD due to the fact that your gauge can warn you about oil pressure problems. This low cost fix can save you from big problems
