OK here is what is going on I have the money to put in a front locker in my jeep. I am running chromoly axles up front so i am not so much worried about breakage. Should I install either an Ox or an ARB. I already have a viair system that I am going to install for onboard air, that way i dont have to buy the compressor. What should i do?

Either one will work well. We do quite a bit with OX now that they have straightened out their issues.

With ARB there is alot more stuff to go wrong.

With the OX you will have to make periodic adjustments for the cable stretch but other than that they work great.

Let me know if I can help you out with getting either one.

I chose OX's front and rear for my buggy.

I opted for ARB front/rear...

most of the "problems" I've had are due to bad routing of the air lines...no problems with the lockers themselves, or the compressor...

if you go ARB, definitely buy a couple of the quick splice connectors to have on the trail...

I wouldn't put another ARB in anything other than a D60, I had one in a d30 and a d44. Both leaked internally after awhile and both cracked around the carrier bearing area. They warrentied both of them so props for that, but otherwise I wasn't impressed.

I agree with what everyone else has said. I never had any problems with the locker itself in my D60, but airline routing is critical (it usually takes 3 or 4 tries to get it right). Also, my D30 ARB held up well. OTOH, my D35 ARB's outer case busted completely in half in 2nd gear at 1/2 throttle.

I like the OX too. Very simple and durable. I don't like o-rings and delicate stuff.

Well thanks guys I am going to go with an OX then. Andy I was the one that talked to you about the custom work that I want done to my jeep. I will have you install it. Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I don't have any experience with the OX locker, but I did recently get an ARB installed. I must say it performs very well! Quick to lock and postively engages without hesitation.

Installation can be tricky. The shop that did mine pretty much screwed the pooch on the isntall and after replacing multiple broken parts on both the compressor and the locker itself I finally got it working good. More or less I had to redo the installation. I should have just done it myself to begin with.

Anyway, ARB did do a great job working with me replacing the parts that were broken/damaged when it was installed. They even overnighted parts to me no questions asked to help me get ready for a Harlan trip. ARB customer service is top notch!

No problem, just let me know if I can help out. We do alot of business with OX so we should be able to do you right on the price if you purchase it through us.

Thanks
Andy

Andy I was the one that talked to you about the custom work that I want done to my jeep.

that just struck me as funny...

as much time as I've spent at CRS, listening to customers and phone calls...

having somebody say they were "the one" talking about "custom work"...

enjoy the OX's...:D

^Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read that: I bet thats what everyone talks to him about.

No big deal, not many people realize (till they hang out here for 30-45 min) that our phone rings as much as it does.

I talk to at least 30-40 people a day and that doesn't include the messages. I try to get to those but I don't always succeed.

Let me know if we can help you out.
Thanks
Andy

Andy ...if you get this, let me know your thoughts on the Auburn ECTed. Installed any yet? I like the limited slip function as well as there available now in D44 and D30 for my Cherokee?

Others opinions?

I can start a new thread on this if it's a problem here.

No problem here. The only suggestion is that I have a detroit in the rear and I love it. Its not bad on the road either. If there is any suggestions for a grand cherokee I need to know because my girlfriend wants to get one and wheel while having all the ankle bitters in the back.

Can I get a price for an OX for a front waggy 44? stock spline count. thanks

I have F/R ARB's and they look nice - Jeeps not done yet. My bro wants an OX because I dont have one... haha

I run ARB's front and rear and love them. Did the installs myself and they are going on their 3rd year with NO problems and never a fault. Instant on and instant off. love the feature.
