Ok smart problem solving people...

Not a fix for this issue, but based on your verbage, the septic tank is behind your house (basement level) and the drain field is in the front yard +10' above basement level)? Long term solution, but could you possibly abandon the front yard field and put in a new field in the back yard? Then you should never have to worry about pumping poo (just pay somebody to do it every 3-5 years).

I have another solution:

Dude... knowing Ron... and his son... and what we hear about his friends and son's friends... I'd bet that is not really a possibility.
Some hearty material in there I'm sure.

You know thinking back, I had ants set up in my pressure switch once on my well that set off the breaker. Don't know what kind of switch it has but just wondering if you checked it out for ants. It's that time for ants to find cover.

What brand pump is it?
If it's a Zoeller BN151 it will cost you about $200 (included float switch) A 152 will be $230ish. Those are the 2 most common pumps we replace. Hydromattic is another good brand and cost is comparable. But I would defiantly replace it with what comes out. A lot of people get "smart" and put a bigger pump in so it will pump faster and it floods out the drainfield. And DONT go to lowes and pick up a pump. 90% of what we replace are lowes pumps that lasted a month and then the homeowner shows us the "original" pump and it lasted 10 years.

I'm in the Winston Salem area and we get our Zoeller pumps from Midstate and our Hydromatics from PSI in stokesdale.

Hope this helps. I've been in the turd removal business for 12 years and I've seen a lot of shit.... Let me know if there's anything I can do

Thanks!
It is a Zoeller pump, wish I had taken the part number down when I had it out....

If only it were that easy now.
The front ~5 acres slopes away from the road down to a 1 acreish pond and the back 6+ acres kinda slopes up then levels off.

The house sits on what would be the back of a standard 1 acre lot. Septic tank and drain field are all in the front yard. Basement is finished ceiling. Rerouting it out to the back yard would involve a lot of deconstruction.

solution below. Put in a 2 seater for some family time.
