Is it 2WD or 4wd?
Mine is a 99 4wd I was told when I asked the same question, 265, with some trimming of the air deflector under the bumper, you can run a 285. I went with the 265, and with my 3.73 gears, it tows pretty good.

mine is 4wd and was thinking i would do a leveling kit for the front.

I personally would stay away from lifting the front end with keys or a crank. They tend to ride pretty stiff and have no down travel when either one is done. It does nothing but cause trouble for every component in the front end. Just don't see the gain for so many compromises.

I'd just throw one size over tire and run it after trimming.

You could run a 265 and look normal or if you want to fill the fenders you could adjust the tbars up a inch and run 285s

i have a brand new set of bfg a/t 285/70/17 so i was trying to find out what i would have to do to make the front is set level with the back and run the 285/70/17

My buddys running 285/75/16 on his 2500 with the 8.1 and all i had to do was tirn the tbars like 3 turns each side and trim the air dam a lil
