Im going to be installing my spartan locker in the front of my zj next wendsday. My ? is should i coat the locker itself in grease, just the springs and pins, or just put it in dry. Any one with experience let me know what you did.

Never installed a Spartan but have installed a few loc right/Aussie lockers. If it's similar to those then the grease is only used to hold the pins and springs in place during assembly. The gear oil will take care of the lubrication.

On a spartan, no grease needed. The good thing about them is that they use pins to hold in the pins during install(if that makes any sense). Install it dry. It will get lubed on the first half a revolution of the front diff.

Bump with a question. What is the best lunch box locker for a D30 with 355 gears going in a 97 zj???

btw.. I didn't want to start a fresh post with this question as i am sure it has been asked already.

Can't go wrong with an Aussie locker, I have one in the front and rear of my jeep

Lockrite/Aussie/Spartan all pretty much the same. Just steer clear of the Detroit EZ lockers. I tried one in the rear of my WJ and it was trash, unlocked and locked while on the gas and going straight.

thanks for the heads up! Now its time to post in the WTB section and hope theres bone out there....
