So, since i'm upping my main line to the house from 3/4 to 1", should I get a 1" regulator as well, or just stick with the 3/4 that is there already? That seems like a stupid question, but what should I do?

If the service from the main is 3/4, it's running through a 5/8ths meter and back through the 3/4 pressure regulator into a 1 inch line to the house. I believe you will be fine. If the one inch line can't keep up,you have other restrictions to worry with that will be expensive to fix.

Right. You up the line from the meter because it's typically a long run, and the pipe length is effectively a restriction. Everything else can be 3/4" or whatever.

X2 what they said. I'm running 2" pvc off a 1" meter and have more than enough water/pressure. 350' of 2" after the 1" meter before I tee into one prv and drop to 1". The rest runs 2" to my primary use building with 0 supply issues. I had the option to pay a few grand to upgrade to a 2" meter but the county pressure was so high we felt like we could squeeze enough water through the 1" meter to be fine and we are. I still have to reduce the pressure before it hits my old plumbing
