I have an extra hard drive on my desktop full of pics, 4 wheeling, vacations, keg parties, etc. I went to view a few pics the other day and all the pic titles are green and when double clicking them, it says cannot display pic. After digging around, somehow, my picture dir became encrypted. Right-click on pic -> properties, in the attributes -> Advanced... the box is checked 'Encrypt contents to secure data'. How the hell did my pics become encrypted and does anyone know how to de-crypt them?

What OS are ya running?

For XP here's how you set encryption...

> Locate the file, right click, and then select properties.
> On the General tab, click Advanced.
> Under Encrypt attributes, select the Encrypt contents, and then click OK.
> Then a Encryption warning box pops up, and you select file only or directory.

To Un-encrypt, you should do the same procedure, just uncheck the Encrypt Contents selection.

What the heck... I'm a nerd. :flipoff2:

Check your NTFS permissions on that drive or folder. Rich is the NT admin, he might know more about how to set the permissions.
