Opinions/experiences needed for my next truck purchase

any updates?

Drove an 06 tundra doublecab yesterday at toyota of concord. Drove really nice, good power from the 4.7, tons of room. Besides the fact that it was about $1k more than I'm wanting to spend, I wasn't a fan of the color, and it didn't have the leather and other power options I'm looking for, soooo I passed on the deal. It was hard, though, considering they were willing to give me $11k on trade for my tacoma! Planning to check out that z71 4-door chebby in Denver tomorrow.

If you really want leather, hold out on that option. I wanted leather on my truck but the deal I found didn't have it. I'm now really regretting not holding out as I still really want leather and as hard as I work my truck and the conditions I put it through, the cloth seats are DIRTY and stained really bad. Had the truck not held together for so long and that its paid for, I would have pawned it off and bought another just for that option

Just called before I drove to Denver to see that black z71. It sold this weekend.

I totally agree. To me, those tips are a sign that rig hasn't been used to tow or wheel. If I actually bought that truck, I'd make sure they redid the leather on that seat and removed those tips before I pulled the trigger. And, replaced the one tire looks like it has some sidewall damage.

chevy, titan, then tundra

that 6.0's going to need a tanker chasing it if you are looking for DD duty

Imo you can't beat the chevy or ford late model trucks in the half ton variety I personally would probly lean towards the 5.3/6.0 chevy trucks but the f150's are great trucks too I wouldn't be scared of either and would buy the one I got the best deal on

Haven't updated in a while, but I've been searching regularly for the last couple months. Thinking I found a good deal, so I'm driving to Cary tomorrow to most likely buy this:

Got all creature comforts I was hoping for, super low mileage for the year, one owner NC truck, clean carfax, and the price is right in the wheelhouse. If anyone thinks they need to talk me out of the 2.5 hr drive, please speak up!

Bought it for $14,900, with 4 brand new Michelins (the tires on there passed NC inspection, but not mine), and a 3yr/36K drivetrain warranty thrown in. Probably the cleanest used vehicle I've ever seen. Previous owner babied this thing. The way it rides, I'm calling it my 4wheel drive couch. Plus, they gave me $11K for my tacoma, which was more than I paid for it. Happy with my purchase, for sure.

Sounds like you got a hell of a good deal.
