So I think I should go ahead and think about getting a new battery. I have no clue how old it is but if this is any indication I bought it at Sam's Club for $89 back in the day. I'd say we're cresting 10 years at least. Every time I go to crank the Jeep it's dead. I can jump it off but unless I run it everyday it'll die in ~24 hours. I searched for recent threads on what the hot ticket is now but the closest I got was one from 2015 and some you suggested AGMs from O'Reilly's.

What say ye?

@trailhugger's Jeep has been sitting for about two weeks. I went to move it on Saturday, and it cranked sloooowly, but finally made it over. It got a new Walmart battery in December.

I went to move my Jeep, which has been sitting for probably a month, and hasn't been driven much prior to that, and it lit right off like it was nothing. It has a 5yo Odyssey in it.

I have also heard good things about the Oreilly AGMs.

I was going to post a Happy Birthday pic of my 11 yo Red Top, but having download problems. Pic shows the 10/11 sticker on it! Now it is getting weak, but many times it sits for a month. At the last CTB ride/raffle, it cranked slow a few times. Not Positive it's battery, but at 11 years, why not! I bought a slightly used Sears AGM, to replace the Red Top with, thinking that would be 2-3 years back. So now the AGM is 5-6 years old, but checks good. So it gets the next turn. But for anything else, I buy the Best battery at Advance Store.
Btw, it's been my understanding, the Optima is Not built to the same Quality they Used to be.

I heard that too. That's why I was asking. There's a few deals online giving 20% off which makes it $225 but damn that's a lot for something that won't get used all the time. Of course, that could be said for literally everything on it.

That's some good ol Gaston county math there Rodney!

Y’all talking about autocraft platinum agm batteries or marine agm??Lol For now all my batts are green tops!

I recently replaced my yellow tops in my rig. Not enough time to really say good or bad from first hand experience. But going on what Chris @BUCKEYE PERFORMANCE INC. told me of HIS experience, I decided go try out a new battery. Actually, two of them, as I have ran 2 for a long time. They are Duracell brand AGM, from Sam's Club. I got two of them for less than $200.

I saw those. I thought about giving them a shot. The price seems right. I also looked at the NAPA legend agm battery.

2006.... Yeah I'd say it was time. I went with the NAPA Legend AGM. My MIL bought us a AAA membership last year since we'd be traveling back and forth across the mountain. It paid off today. I got the sweet discount by using it.

Tried to read up on AGM's and am a little confused. The web talks about special charging procedures, both off and on vehicle (special alternator)? I need one for my old 75 K5. Would be a drop-in replacement?
I heard that too, but never read up on it. I've had no charging problems, weather it be by alternator, battery charger or trickle charger. I forgot & left a switch on time, over a week. Nearly killed the Red Top Dead, but it charged right back up with my standard charger.

I'm probably 5 yrs strong on my advance Auto agm. It got beat in the cruiser winching and leaving lights on. When I started my build on blue it sat outside in the bed of the truck for a year before I got it in engine bay. Fired right up. I think it's held up as well or better than my last couple Optimas.

My charger has an AGM setting. If I crew that up I shouldn't be owning a vehicle.
