Other drivers in snow/ inclimate weather

duly noted. if i had to guess, that was a bit of an exaggeration trying to sound "cool" for all his new found internet friends that backfired on him.
 
While I don't condone endangering any one else's life as the Op said he was doing when he said he said he passes cars sidways in the snow.

I would be shocked if 70 -80% of us on this board don't slide the assend of our trucks through a corner on slippery roads when no one is around. Doing a donut or a fish tail with nobody around is no more dangerous then climbing the side of a mountain with a 4 thousand pound vehicle.

How many of you have had your wife and kids in your rig while you are on the side of a mountain on the ragged edge of flipping. Their is no differnce from getting the "Pucker Factor" on montain and getting a little thrill on slippery roads. Just make sure your not endangering anyone but your self.
 
I have no doubt that there is some "exaggery" going around on this forum. Im not calling him out, I do test the throttle from time to time on these icy roads, I just dont do it around others.

btw, the past saturday I was going down the road following the tracks when I came up on a small car, so I slowed to let him/her have the best line. well, I hit the built-up snow between the tracks a little too fast and it kicked me sideways for a split second as the car was going by me. I held on to it like it was instinctive, and no accident happened. however I know that I kicked up some slush onto there car and it probably scared the sh!t out of the driver and passengers. needless to say I didn't feel good about it, and if they had stopped I would have turned around to apologize.
but thats just me.:D

who is getting butt hurt he ask a question. We answered it and yes he said he did around other cars. how would you feel getting a phone call saying your mom,dad,etc.etc was killed or hurt in a car crash due to a douche bagg playing around on the open road ?
In no way is this the same as what people due in there rigs on the trails

yes most of us were out doing donuts and other stuff but it wasnt flying around vehicles. that stuff makes us look like a bunch of idiots plus it endangers others! i had a jeep fly past me after i watched him fly into a parkinglot slam on brakes thow it around a few times and then come out behind me fishtailing across three lanes of a road!! then he flew past me after i pulled over as far to the side as i could and almot stop on the road so he could go on about his stupidity
 
Some jackass in a busted up Dodge truck ran me off the road this past weekend. I guess he thought it would be funny to swerve at me and make me nearly miss a tree and an upcoming guard rail. I hope these bastards only kill/injure themselves while out having "fun".

On a trail I have control of my Jeep and in no way would put my family in danger and that is in no way a comparison to someone acting an idiot on the road and loosing control and hitting my wifes mini van.

If the OP was tring to impress someone he did in the wrong way.

What the guys are trying to get across is that it's stupid to do this type of stuff on public roads. 15 years experience driving or not, something that could forever alter someones life could happen in milliseconds. Not to mention it looks bad coming from a 4wd truck, driven by an unemployed, US Army retiree. I'm just sayin'.

What i will step up on my soap box (it's gotten dusty, glad you came along) to say is that the people who are members of this forum are HEAVILY involved in a hobby that is constantly under attack from outsiders.

You chose make a post about doing something stupid and dangerous in a PUBLIC forum dedicated to the off road community. As the largest internet venue for this community in north carolina (where the fight to keep our OHVs open is an uphill battle) it DOES get monitered by folks who would rather we not practice our hobby.

Will your comments get us kicked out of URE, no...but we have lost tellico. did you fuck off on the trails, no. Did you kill any fish, no. But you did just put one more nail in the coffin of our sport.

I will go on the record for the community as saying we do not condone breaking of any law, traffic or otherwise. We encourage safe and courteous driving.

Please respect our hobby. if you want to talk about this stupid shit go join a tuner forum.

Actually I just didn't want to hurt any more fragile feelings, plus I didn't want the general public to think that people who wheel don't care about the rest of the public. If you sill want to cry you can send me a private message, but then again that probably won't help your ego quite as much.
 
You start a thread stroking your own ego, bragging about how "good" a driver you are and all the fun things you do. You're met with vehemently differing opinions. Immediately you accuse us of getting "butthurt" and stroking OUR egos? If we were out in public and you brought up some shit like this, I'd say the same to your face. You're an idiot, and you can't take criticism. And just because you "let it go" doesn't make it all OK. You let the cat out of the bag.

My feelings aren't fragile. I've just got a low tolerance for ignorance and disregard for the safety of innocents. You're not going to apologize, I realize this. Somehow, you fail to recognize you're doing anything wrong. Hopefully, natural selection will take care of you. I just hope somebody else is discouraged from being a jackass by reading this post. And my analogy was apt. Basically stated, if you keep up stupid and self-destructive behavior, eventually bad shit is going to happen to you. May happen the first time, might take 16 years. But sooner or later, it's going to catch up to you. Life is a series of calculated risks, choose them more wisely.
