if you have been through 4 in 5 years, i urge you to find a better builder.


as far as the breaking, i have seen it before. did it break just the extension housing?

I tried ford 2 times, local guy the first time and am fighting with a chain tranny shop this time. Got my truck back 3 weeks ago, complete rebuild with all the "BEST" goodies including billit converter. It had 3 hundred miles on it, 45 of it pulling a trailer and no 4th gear now. It's been back in the shop since Tuesday. I do pull a big trailer (40 gooseneck 15,000lb gross), but expect more than 300 miles before failure. Made us miss the last ECORS race on the side of the road. All I have for an engine is a 7.3 IDI with a few mods on it and I baby the tranny when pulling.

i understand the ford units failing(they didn't get right the first time, why should the other 2 be any different)
if you unit failed after 300 miles, there should be not be any fighting with them, they did something wrong, period.

take another look, it did. I got an E40D sitting in my yard if you want. input shaft is missing and may or may not need a rebuild(been sitting for a longtime) I was just going to scrap it.

it looks like(from the pic) the extension housing is all that's broke.

yea it was just the adapter....ive got 193 on my E4OD and im not nice to it lol,original tranny and motor(5.8).

nah it broke nothing in the tranny,thats the adapter

hey lee(transman) ryan at ECGS told me to call ya yesterday when it happened to see if you could get one...but ive already located one
