welcome
I am painting my 91 cherokee this coming weekend. i just wanted to ask if anyone has ony tips on painting that they would like to shair with me before i start.

What type of paint are you useing, and what are you doing to prep the body before you paint. I do paint work for a living and would be happy to give you any advise I can!

Rustoleum is the stuff!

Honestly, it's all in the prep.. give it a good surface to adhere to.. use primer if ya can... and don't try to totally cover it in one coat.

paint asnwers

i am using acrylic enamel paint, far us prep. gos i have sanded most of the old paint off with 80 grit, then 180 grit aand the final was 600 grit. i have done all the body work and things look pretty good. the place i got the paint showed me how to mixe the paint. is there any real good way to make shore that there is no grit or dirt on the paint surface before i start.

tack cloth and wiping it down with mineral spirits...

i'm not sure off hand what i painted my POS with but i remember it being some kind of enamel w/o a clearcoat if that makes sense. bad mistake, now everytime i hit the truck chunks of paint come off instead of making little dings.

You will see some scratches, too many gaps between grits IMO. ;)
