I'm really stoked! I know it's nothing incredible, but I finally got my grandpa's husky 44 running again. I have a lot of memories cutting wood with this chainsaw. The coil went bad and they aren't manufactured any more. I keep my eye on eBay and Craigslist and finally found one in Dobson. It hasn't run in, I bet, 6-8 years. Fired up today with the new "old" coil like it never missed a beat.

Nice! I like to have paw paws old chainsaw he thought somebody "stole". We found it after he passed away when we clean out the bed of his truck! Too bad the fertilizer that had spilled on it ate through the aluminum case

Nothing better than a paw paw that made you work..

I got my grandfathers old homelite 5/6 years ago and was thrilled to have it since its the only saw I remember him using.Got it running and used it to cut some brush. After about two hours that heavy ass saw had done beat me down. For a days worth of sawin, the modern saws are way better.

Awesome! I guess you got the coil from the guy here in town that fixes and sells saws. He has a lot of CL ads and probably has any part you can imagine.

My grandpa taught me how to work with a tractor. My dad has it now and I will get it someday

Yeah, that's next on my list. My grandpa's Super A Farmall. He is still alive and kicking but can't get on it. I rebuilt the engine a few years ago for him when it was locked up, but it has done nothing but sit since.
