parking brake

i have a 84 gmc k25 and when i push the parking brake in it wont hold the truck. so the truck just rolls ne ideas?
 
i did sould i do it more and when i it it would only tightin the right side not the driver side is there some where on the brake drum itself to tightin?
 
Should be and adjuster on the bottom, Probably has a rubber plug over the hole.

You can see it in the bottom of the drum with the star wheel on it

should be a slot in the back of the backing plate that will allow you to adjust the auto tensioner. use a flat screw driver
 
Jack the tires off the ground. Turn the star wheel tensioner with a screwdriver through the slot in the backing plate until you can feel a slight resistance when turning the tire. You will have to flip the star wheel in in the down direction with the screwdriver I think. If this doesn't fix it then the adjustment is in the ebrake cable/handle.
