Is playing on snow banks in parking lots illegal? Has anyone been yelled at for it?

Yeah,my wife Yelled at me for taking a parking spot all the way at the front of the parking lot by the store because I had to half climb a snow bank in her SUV to park there. The kids thought it was fun though!!

We got in trouble over the weekend for drifting in a parking lot. No charges or anything, but the Troopers took our licenses, car keys, etc... ran them, then asked us a bunch of questions, then flash lighted the inside of the vehicle before letting us go, and making us leave the area.

Seemed a little bullshit since we hadn't hurt anything, but they had nothing better to do probably, you might run into a few in the same position.

several yrs ago i got pulled out of my truck @ gunpoint for parking lot donuts @ 2am in WM parking lot(mind you store was closed) and got charged with reckless driving and public endangerment. :shaking: needless to say havnt done it since. always find a field.:driver:

Was this on snow/ice or just general hooliganism on dry pavement? I think you get a little more leniency if you don't make noise, smoke, and black marks.

snow covered

Yet if someone rams into you in a parking lot the cops will say it was on "private property" and there's nothing they can do about it.

Exactly, this past halloween my buddy is parked outside a party, we are standing in the front yard because there was a dispute and me and 2 others are pretty much telling this guy to leave.

Well, the guy backs up and slams into my buddy's car, and drives off. We called the police immediately, they came out, did a report, etc... On the way home that guy crashed. Its been 2 months now and the police report still hasn't been completed and because of this the insurance company won't fix the car.

Time to talk to a lawyer!

Thats what I told him to do, but he is sick of dealing with it. His car is drivable, but the rear quarter is trashed. Hes been on and off the phone with everyone since it happened and said last week it isn't worth the damage for him to put up with this shit.

I told him to take it to court, and chances are the lawyer would be paid for by the other side.

I never understood this perspective...it's not your property, you had no right to be doing what you were doing. It's a PARKing lot...not a drifting lot. I don't see how that's any different than going on to some strangers property and doing the same thing. If it's not ok there, why should it be ok in your case. Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude, and I've done the very same thing...but it's not something to get indignant and self-righteous about and whine about it being bullshit, it was your decision, not the cops'. There are consequences and ramifications for your actions, if you don't like the potential outcome, don't do it. And yes, it is just that simple.

yea no :poop: a illegal mexican with no license hit my truck in mcdonalds parking lot and the cop let her go :flipoff:

Behind my shop there is a HUGE shopping center. They plowed it roughly 8:15 Sunday morning. And left 9' snow banks. Obviously with the snow, ice, and temp the city sat knida still that morning. So everyone said I wouldnt ram the snow mounds. Taught them a thing or two and the mexicans at the laundry mat got a laugh out of it then tried the same in thier 2WD Blazer. They tabletopped and high centered on it.

While I was in Boone, we always went to the mall parking lot and did donuts on the ice covered lot. One time when I wasn't there a cop rolled up and gave everyone a reckless driving ticket... we never did that again.
