Really gets on my nerves to see morons like this. Doubt there is anything that can be done without a license plate number but maybe there is. Looks to be at Uwharrie.

I just ran across this post too on FB. Looks like the backside of Daniel. What a douchebag...

We drive all over mountains with large paths cutout and large areas opened up so we can have a rock garden, someone rolls and knocks a tree over or someone is stuck and uses a tree to hook a winch and yall are worried about driving up a tree that looks dead?? I don't get it.

I see where you are coming from....
A roll over that takes a tree out is accidental.
Using a winch on a tree with a proper strap shouldn't harm the tree.

What this guy did was dumb, and posting pics of it was even dumber.....

I guess, I just dont see it that way.

Same boat here, took me a minute to figure out what this thread was about. Also I'm fairly certain that tree has been dead for years and it hasn't been vertical in a long long time.

I was just recently at uwharrie, I don't remwmbre if that tree was even there or not, if it was, it was standing because I know I didn't have to drive under it.

Do what you want on private property but in a national forest you need to be a little more considerate. They LET us use the trails, it's not a guarantee. Do I think one guy driving up a tree will change that? No. But there are plenty of rocks to flex out on, no need to push a tree over to do it.

Also, you say the tree has been dead for years, maybe all it took to kill it was a few morons driving up it like an RTI ramp.

The problem is not only the fact that he may be damaging a live tree or could have knocked it over playing on it but let this photo get out to the other side and it depicts us as a group as forest destroying apes. It was posted on his Facebook and here also so it's free for the taking by anyone to use against us.

I looked him up on FB and so far have not sent a friend request. Is anyone on here friends with him? If so please send him a message and ask that he take down that pic because it shows us as a wheeling community in a bad light. It would be better coming from someone he knows.

The national government works for us. Its bad we have allowed them to "let us" use our land that belongs to all of us anyway.

You really believe they work for 'us'? The current president seems like he may actually work for 'us' but don't expect any of the other ones to...

I wouldn’t let this worry me much not anybody to do anything about it and that trees been dead

They are supposed to, it was a more general statement pointing out the bloated government that has overgrown he boundaries set forth in the Constitution and how people have become complacent in it evidenced by your statement of them "letting" us use the land.

It is public land yes but that doesn't mean every moron gets to go on public land and do what ever the heck they want. So, of course, there have to be rules and thus you are "let" to do some things and not "let" to do others. Basically how government and laws in general work. Chaos without them.

Just like the "let" you build a house on your land or "let" you collect rainwater. So where does it end? I'm not saying everything the forest service does is bad, but to be scared of running up on a tree that is in an OHV area is DUMB in my opinion.

Fuck the government. Free men shall do what they are meant to do.
