Paul walker died today

It's being confirmed all over that he died in a car crash earlier today.
 
One of my buddies was close friends with Paul, he called me about an hour ago with the news. Crazy.


I guess no FF8.
 
He musta NOS'd it going into a corner. I was in high school when FF1 came out, and as ridiculous as it was, I'm sure it was still formative for me in some way.
 
Man this sucks. Walker wasn't the greatest actor but he seemed genuine in both life and the movies he did. I feel genuinely remorseful over his death.

What a tragedy. Never a big fan of the F&F franchise but Running Scared is probably of the most under appreciated movies ever.

I imagine there'll be a public service add about this and the dangers of street racing, this seems to happen alot more since the FF movies became so popular w young thrillseekers. A few years ago I watched 2 young idiots racing tuners on the inner beltline near Lake Boone Trail, they were weaving in and out of traffic very recklessly and passing on the shoulders in fairly heavy traffic about lunchtime, just like a scene from the movie.
 
I'm calling it now...30 years from now, he'll be mentioned in the same breath with Steve McQueen. Sure his movies were cheesey (I loved them though)...but a racing movie series as lucrative as that makes names stick.
