Well, here it is. My sign that is going to be put on my building paying thanks to the many friends who helped bring it all together.
From going to get my lift, to grading, pouring and finishing concrete, building shelves, hanging lights, wiring the building, moving tools an end equipment ...all of this would not have been possible without my friends. Some are on here, some are not. But all were instrumental in getting my shop built.
Some know, some don't. Year before last, I had a dream of having a shop and being able to do things out of the elements. I first bought my lift, and sit on it for a while, till I was able to get my grading done. After the grading was done, it started raining. Waiting for my area to dry. That took months! Once dry, I got my gravel brought in, packed, and then came the forms and concrete. Hired a company to build it to my specs. And then, we waited for a month to pass, and got my lift in. All the while different people helped me wire the building, build shelves, move tools and so on. Then, I had an issue with a toe, spent several days in the hospital, and came home, less one big toe. Things went pretty good for a while, after about a month, I even made a trip to Harlan. three weeks after that, all hell broke loose. I ended up in an ambulance and had emergency surgery. I had holes in my gut, and also ended up with a tube in my side, down through my liver into my gall badder. I wore that for 8 weeks. I spent 9 days in the hospital. My weight fell off. I went from 212 down to 133! I went back in, had my gall badder removed, tube taken out, and more holes fixed in my stomach. After my hospital stay I got a new doctor. One that not only listens to me, but has done all he can to better my health. Weight gain has been slow. During all of this I got to where I was doing nothing, Doc thought it was depression, but after spending nearly an hour and a half in my room talking to me, I convinced him yeah I was depressed, but the reason was I just hurt all the time. instead of antidepressants, I got some pain meds. Since then, I have been able to do a little more. Mentally, it made me a lot better. But with so many things causing me pain, my doc has worked on testing and referrals. After decades of back issues, FINALLY, I will soon have some fusions done and some rods put in, so that my discs are not continuously pinching my nerves. I also just had the dreaded procedure most do not like to talk about, the colonoscopy, that was yesterday. As usual, found a couple(2) small polups (sp) waiting to see about the one bigger one that was questionable.
So without further ado, my good friend John Fuller @marty79 made me a sign for my building out of some scrap metal he had. and here it is!
