I have wondered this for a while...I see people out during the day while I am working, driving nice cars, in regular clothes and I will see the same people multiple times a day and I know they don't have a job...so how are these people affording these nice cars, nice clothes, and able to just be out whenever they want..Also they have nice phones, etc... what's the deal? I mean, welfare? really? How do they not catch these people? disability? I mean what is it?

Stop and think how much more disposable income you would have if you didn't have to pay for groceries, healthcare, income tax, etc. Alot of people are living off the government tit.

I figured that, I just want to know how...do they really not investigate these people? its highway robbery.

They could also be in sales, own their own business, be a consultant, commercial pilot, etc.

More info is needed about these "people".

No joke. How do you know they don't have jobs?
Alot of folks live off of income that dosn't come from working 9-5. Well placed investments, inheritences, family $$, working nights, well-paying seasonal work.

And believe it or not there are people that are really good with managing their money and acquiring nice things w/o paying much for them.

Government employees are the worst Dave:beer:

I was told disability is not being able to do the same job you once did. I know a guy who worked for the railroad and made really good money. He now has "a bad back" like half the people on disability. He can do anything he wants to do, but the railroad said he couldn't work that job any more so he is now disabled and get a fat check every month. I know a guy that was in the military that has a minor problem with his wrist and gets 5k a month. He also does anything he wants.

Disability needs drastic reforms. People with bad backs can still hold down a simple job.

I'd be willing to bet there is a good mix of folks that can handle their money and folks that are living off the system. I asked a girl once how she got her money, because I never knew her to do anything productive, but she always had the nicest things. She told me that when she graduated college, her folks gave her some crazy amount of land. A few months later she was approached about putting cell towers on her properties. She agreed, and she claims to be getting about $125k a year off of the yearly payments for those towers. Maybe I'm gullible, but it sounded good and that's the story she gave me.

Im not saying some people who don't appear to work don't have a legit way of coming by their nice things. People im talking about are the ones driving their escalde to the free clinic and loading a grocery cart full of welfare baby formula and food stamp rib eyes into their navigator while wewearing $300 shoes and carrying a $500 pocket book.

Yep, or work nights, etc

I work from home often and run errands during the day a lot of the time, I just have to get my job done, and nothing else matters.

I know some people have cell towers. All depends on where you live how much they will pay. One of my friends gets about a 50k "sign on" bonus for renewing the contract every about 10 years, and gets around 1500-2000 a month for the tower being there, I believe.

Maybe they just have jobs they can leave during the day for ... there's no hours for my job, so I often run errands during the day when it's most convienent.

Maybe they work a different shift than you and get to run around all day. I know when I worked third shift I slept for a couple hours in the morning ran around all day doing what I wanted to do then slept a few hours before work. Of course I was younger then and could get by with little sleep.
