Pet Pigs...?

Where can I acquire one of them there pet pigs???
My woman brings up wanting one every other day.

We look forward to pics and a "pig name". These guys look rather entertaining! If my dog's didn't kill everything that can't out run them then I'd consider...

Dang I thought lisa got enough sausage when I came over while you were at work. She must need it to fill a void while the gingers home:flipoff2:.

Well, Loretta is doing well. Very playful and smart. She has been potty trained since about the 4th day home. Good with the kids and even accepts a walk on a leash.

I must admit, I never thought I would own a pet pig. Its really pretty cool and I'm glad we did it.

She is growing a lot and the Vet says she can move outside now. I surveyed the fencing project yesterday an I've got a large project in front of me!

On with the pig pic...

I'm bringing this thread back to life....

If all goes as planned we will be buying a new house so I promised the wife we could get a pet pig once we got a couple acres, so it's time to follow through. So I reckon Chris P. Bacon will be my boxers new BFF soon.

How's Loretta doing?

Loretta is doing great. I gave up on trying to walk her like a dog. She is strong and the damn squealing will make your ears ring!

The kids absolutely lover her. My 2 yr old son will just go outside and hang out squatted down and watch her. She absolutely loves strawberry caps and recently she has been enjoying watermelon.

I still take her out and guide her to the front yard and let her hang out with us occasionally. She basically ignores us and roots and nibbles all over mostly. It gives us a good chance to pet her or even wash her up a little. She gets happy and hauls ass around the yard. Damn thing is fast and can corner like she is on rails!

Guests who come and visit are fascinated by the back yard with the chicken and pig paradise. You will enjoy getting a pig for a pet.

I keep halfway joking about getting a peacock to round out our collection, but not sure if I want to commit to it yet...

I dated a girl who had one that lived inside at night and she would put him in the back yard while she was at work. I was told that they will root up around the fence and escape if you don't put a ring in their nose. Stay consistent on that diet or there won't be a miniature thing about her. I had a Pygmy goat for a while that I kept at a buddies house. She had so much personality and loved to ride in the car and eat cig butts.

I don't have a problem with digging out (knock on wood). No pig will sleep in my house. It was one thing when she was very little, but even then she was in the garage.

A pig will eat like a pig and get fat. You judge food consumption by their jowls and belly. Loretta eats about a cup and a half of mini pig feed in the morning and again in the evening. Lots of veggie scraps and she enjoys a couple of weeds that my neighbor feeds her when he visits. Don't feed them meat or they get all meat crazy (so I've been told). The biggest issue w the meat is I used to feed the chickens meat fat and sraps, but they seem to be ok about it

That's a good way to piss off your neighbors lol. Man they're loud and really easy to get them going.

A friends parents up in PA have some, they live close to him. Anytime we come home from the bars late at night we're sure to swing by and get them talking. This never gets old.

We have two dogs that will bark at anybody coming near our our house but only when they are outside (daytime). When they are in at night we could be getting robbed blind and they would just lay around. A peacock would solve that problem and give me chance to call someone to help since I'm a defenseless non-swimmer. :D:sniper:

I have a friend that is trying to get rid of a pig, maybe 150#. Free to a mediocre home.

Fml I was scammed into getting a pig three weeks ago! Grant it this 6month old pig is house trained and uses a litter box he's 12lb and can eat everything if allowed! You have to watch how much you feed them or they will be 200lb before YA know our pigs name is hamlet I'll post a pic up I just got him castrated yesterday BC he was humping everything and his fluids smell like straight hell so after 300$ I have a nice slab of bacon in 6 years when ole ladies over it hahaha jk "he's part of the family":shaking:

Our neighbors down the road have one, he runs around the yard like a dog.
Kids love him and he's great w/ them.
They named him Kevin Bacon.
