I am 100% a Manning fan but after not playing last year and his future being muddy I dont think he deserves as much as he wants
He's said publicly he was fine with restructuring his contract to what value he is currently worth. If the Colts wouldn't have treated this season as a 4 year old with a temper tantrum everything could have been fine. Instead they sack almost their entire team and cut the face of their franchise. I think he would have been fine playing for much less. I've never liked the Colts, mostly because it was obvious that the only reason they were ever good was simply because of Manning. They let that team decay because of their star QB. Mismanagement from every angle, and Peyton should be happy he's getting out now, its going to be a DISASTER for the next few years, and invariably, whichever QB they draft this year will not be their guy 5 years from now.
I don't think he will go to the Dolphins. I think they'll get Matt Flynn. Makes more sense for them, because they need to set up for the future, not the now. Redskins are too weak all over to really need him as well. They have old dusty receivers, running backs made of glass, and a coach who still thinks it wasn't John Elway who won him those Super Bowls.
Seahawks are probably one of the best fits I think. I don't care for Pete Carroll, but he's been doing quite a lot with a mediocre quarterback. They have great young receivers, and Marshawn Lynch is the single most underrated running back in the league. I think Arizona is another big landing spot. Manning/Fitz would be fantastic. One that hasn't been mentioned too much, the Kansas City Chiefs. If you think Kyle Orton or Matt Cassel are franchise QB's, you need to reevaluate yourself as a football fan. Manning would be a HUGE splash there. That team is on the verge of becoming a nightmare. They have Bowe, they have Charles, they have a solid O line and a pretty nasty defense. They just lack that spark at QB. AND if Manning brings Reggie Wayne with him...wow.
Then there is always the Jets who I believe are ready to admit Sanchez is not their man. Plus they always like being in the limelight, and really need to be in it for the RIGHT reasons, rather than the wrong. BUT, I don't think Manning will want to go there. No way he'd want to play in the same building as little brother. It just wouldn't be fair to Eli.
There are some talks about the 49ers, but I think they are very comfortable with Alex Smith. I wouldn't see them moving on Manning.
