Philmont 2005

That's sad Rob. Really sad. Our troop was pretty well self disciplined. On occasion one of our leaders had to have a talk with a parent. One of two things happened. 1. they never come back. or 2. they come back and never another problem. My dad because of his disability wasn't able to do a lot with the troop. But, he was one of the ones that seemed to always be there to take us to and pick us up from a trail or camping outing.

It depends on the Troop, or pack in your case. It is a sad fact but true. Best bet for anyone in the future is to "shop around." Find a pack you like and that makes you feel at home.;)

One of my favorite thing was all the back packing we did I got to hike the Pacific Crest trail from lake Tahoe to Yosemite.

I thin that is why I 4wheel so much know becuase my knees are done for

Some of my best memories growing up were with the scouts. My parents were school teachers and in the summer my dad worked at a scout camp. 8 weeks each summer in a cabin in the beautiful Adriondack Mountains of New York State. I didn't know it then, but as I look back, I was very lucky.

I went to philmont back in '99 and loved it. I hope I get to go back sometime and get branded again;)

I can see where Rob is coming from. The troop I was in all but dissappeared in the last few years. I don't know if they even meet anymore:confused:
